yay....so many things to write... i keep forgetting to write here because it seems like i am writting to everyone else. I just got out of italian class and earlier this morning i went to the house where micelangelo lived with my high rennissance class. it is so wierd to be in this place because everything seems so sereal. IT was like last week when i went to vinci to see where leonardo lived , and where he grew up. when i was in his house i was asstounded as well.

Hilary just got back from rome ans she said it was fabulous. i am going in a few weeks, can't wait. this weekend i am going top pisa!

Today for lunch i had a great piece of bread from the market. i always go there for the fresh food, it is so much cheaper. everything is so expensive and it feels good to buy a loaf of bread for 70 cents.

its been raining the last couple of days so i havn'y really been able to paint. a few days ago i painted at the ponte vecchio when it was sunny and it was so pretty. i was sitting on the side of the bridge and it was a little windy and i lost some of my supplies in the water. thats what you get for plain air right?

the other night we saw a movie dubbed in italian. it wa match point. i basically understood it but i was glad jenna had seen it before. i love the movie theater it looks like an old oprea house or something. it is decorated in broque styleand has a huge stain glass roof and gold trip everywhere. the youngest buildings around here are like 100 years old. we sat in the uper level seating....it was so cool.

besides all the fresh food i have been enjoying gelato as well as nutella. the gelateria that was next to our apt. has closed for a few weeks and we are sad. it will reopen soon. my birthday is in a few weeks and we will be heading to rome and venice. i am so excited! i want to go to paris and prague...but who knows.
for now florence is the place for me. i walk around the city everyday and i still havn't seen like anything.

the language barrier is getting better. i wish i was fluent though. i want to live here some day. my painting taecher is amaerican and went to this school then moved back to live. he married an italian women and now they live in the country. me and adam went to his house the other day to see his studio because we are the only two students in the independent painting. his house was so adorable. it was this little tuscan house with a red teracotta roof. his studio was small and cute , in the basement. his family lives up stairs and from every window there was a beautiful view of the hills outseide the city. it reminded me of fiesole. i was amazing. we walked around in the rain for a while and saw the surounding farms that had land full or olive trees.

everyday me and jenna watch italian mtv to help us better understand the language. it is so wierd because they listen to american music. the shows are all american shows like "pimpin my ride" and are dubbed. it is so funny! the commercials are the best, they are so cheezy. i love it!

florence is fabulous!!! everyting is old, colorful, exciting....blah blah blah....how to even put in words? i love where i live. a small apartment across from the old city fort...not to scenic but very busy and eciting! my roomates are all i could have hoped for...

he only thing i'm really not used to is walking everywhere. i live on the edge of the city so everything is like 2 miles from my apt (at the least).

when i got here my favorite thing was the market...now i'm over that stage and i like to see small grocery stores and marts. they are the most convient but far and few.

i've had some good days and bad. sometimes it frustrating because of the following: not alot of people speak inglish, the city is old along with the plumming and electricity, allot of walking, no one will help you, things are expensive, things can be inconvient...like all in specialized stores i.e. the butcher the baker the candelstic maker and such. But overall the city is so charming with really old architecture and monuments. The food is fabulous...how could i have forgotten the food!!! AMAZING!

yes....as you can tell from my current facebook pic I cut my hair short again. I'm deffinetly too impacient for all that. i decided to cut it overthanksgiving when i was at toms. I figured it would be better for going away because their are constraints on resorces and such. The cut ....cut my shower time in two. I just had the study abroad meeting today for going away and now i'm even more excited. Excited and scared. I found out who all was going. I can't believe there are only two weeks left of school and only a month until i leave. crazyness! I saw harry potter over the break twice. It was pretty good...It was differnt then all the other ones. I have to admit the first time i saw it i was a little scared. (but that isn't saying much). It totally rocked my world. What can i say Harry got hot. the scene when he takes of the shirt in the bathroom ....ahhhhhhhh...yeeeeeeeessss! I can't believe i am not sleeping right now after this long day...i really should get sleep with all of these final projects i need to be doing. Yes ...nothing but sleep work and ramen for the rest of the semester. (of all goes to plan....)

Lately i've been looking at body art...inspired by my roomate michelle. She did this painting of some kind of african ritual with this kick ass body art. I guess i love it because i'm so into pattern and color. One of my favorite artists lately is Robert Kushner. He didn't do body art but, he did things with elaborate textiles and he even did these awesome performances. I like his 2-d art he best though. He does this huge paintings with these lusious colors. I've been trying so hard to upload one of his paintings(one of my favorites) but i can't get it offline. They are all owned by private galleries mostly in New york and they don't let people mess with their shit. Don't worry all this body art hasn't inpired me to get a tatoo or anything... I just want some finger paint or something.

That reminds me ....a long time ago me and jen were talking about getting some finger paint. We never did...now we deffinetly have to...hehe.

I just saw pride and predudice last night...
I have to say although it was a good movie I was very dissapointed. i mean what the hell was i thinking anyway...no one could beat the bbc version. The new one is very rushed, they were deffinetly killing to get 6 hours worth of story into 2! They combined sceens and totally rushed the whole plot making it somewhat hard to follow and in my opinion much less effective. Jane austin would not have wanted her characters to be cut and undeveloped as this movie has done. The whole thing that makes the bbc version so good is the time and the waiting that just make you want elixabith and darsey to get together even more! This movie somewhat portrayed the characters differently...my biggest anoyance was mr. collins. He was creepy for sure but not wierd enough. What can i say...they are two different interpritations. This movie was directed by a man unlike the bbc special. Jane austins novel was written at the end of the 17 hundreds but was not published until about 1830. The bbc feature depicts the story in the 1830's when the book was published. This movie depicts the story in the 1700's when it was actually written. The clothes and houses were much more rustic. The scenery was supurb though. Reviews said that kera nightly did so good... but i think she didn't get elizabeths true character. elizabeth is just so dinamic and witty. Nightly just seemed out of place. Anyway deff go see it for yourself. It was a fine movie I am just bias. I have watched the other one for tooo long.
